Francophone Canadian trio Vishtèn deliver a dynamically contemporary spin on their native Acadian traditions.
Twin sisters Emmanuelle and Pastelle LeBlanc, from Prince Edward Island, join forces with Pascal Miousse – a direct descendant of the first colonial families to inhabit Quebec’s Îles de la Madeleine – creating a trademark blend of fiddle, guitar, harmonium, piano, accordion, whistles, bodhrán, jaw harp, Moog, electric guitar and percussive dance, plus rousing chorus songs.
Their latest album, 2018’s Horizons, interweaves rock, pop, indie and ambient sounds into this vibrant musical mix, together with wider folk influences, further cementing their status as today’s leading Acadian ambassadors.
